Vincentia combines 6.5 kilometres of white sandy beaches—from Huskisson in the north to Hyams Beach in the south—with waterside walking paths, a wooded return route at Greenfield Beach and cultural experiences in Jervis Bay National Park. When planning your trip, you can choose from several options: beach activities, walks between coast and forest, and an insight into Aboriginal culture. You can plan your stay around which of these sides of Vincentia you’d like to get to know better.

Beaches with different things to do

Nelson Beach has white sand and gentle waves for swimming and paddling. Blenheim Beach in Vincentia is suitable for snorkelling; a reserve with a picnic area is nearby. Barfleur Beach borders Plantation Point Reserve. Surf can occur there when the swell is strong; conditions vary with the weather and swell. These beaches offer different starting points for choosing where to go: Nelson combines gentle waves with swimming and paddling, Blenheim is suited to snorkelling, while surfing at Barfleur depends on a strong swell.

Walks between coast, forest and history

From Nelson Beach, walkers can follow the White Sands Walk south to Greenfield and continue into Jervis Bay National Park. Greenfield Beach is part of Jervis Bay Marine Park. The return route along the Scribbly Gum Track passes through tall forest and woodland and ends uphill at the Greenfield Beach picnic area. The transition from coast to wooded track gives the Greenfield section a different character from a beach visit alone.

The Round the Bay Walk runs from Huskisson to Plantation Point and is accessible to people with different abilities, as well as to strollers and bicycles. In Vincentia, it passes a historic wharf from which wool was shipped from Goulburn to Sydney. The history of wool shipping adds a specific historical dimension to the walk.

Accessibility and cultural experiences

Orion Beach in Vincentia has a footpath along which people with different abilities can walk beside the beach. Greenfield Beach is the beach in Jervis Bay National Park best suited to wheelchair users; a short boardwalk leads to the beach. Check accessibility conditions before your trip.

The guided Greenfield Beach cultural tour explores Aboriginal cultural knowledge and stories in Jervis Bay National Park and is available on request. Dates are listed for the tour for 2026–2027. The “Greenfield Beach explorer” Junior Ranger program is a hands-on adventure for Junior Rangers in the park; dates are also listed for 2026–2027. This gives you a choice between a cultural tour available on request and a hands-on Junior Ranger program.

The green space at Burton Street Mall in Vincentia also offers a different public gathering place, laid out around mature eucalyptus trees. On 4 December 2023, the Council described it as a place for play, meeting, markets and entertainment; public programs may change.
