Mullaloo is a coastal town whose character is best experienced at Mullaloo Beach and along the beach trails. Soft, white sand, a popular swimming beach with calm water, and trails between neighbouring beaches offer different ways to spend time by the sea. Water and surfing conditions can vary. When planning your trip, it is worth considering beach days and active time on land as separate focuses.

Beach and access

Mullaloo Beach is a popular swimming beach with calm water and soft, white sand. The combination of time by the shore and swimming gives the place its clear beach focus; however, conditions in the water and for surfing can change. At the beach, a beach wheelchair allows people who need wheelchair assistance to cross the sand and reach the water. Check before travelling whether the beach wheelchair is currently available.

Water sports in designated areas

Kitesurfing is restricted to clearly designated areas. At Mullaloo Beach, a restricted zone extends 200 metres into the water. Setting up, launching and landing must take place in the designated kitesurfing area between the restricted zones. The rule therefore applies not only to time on the water, but also to preparing for and finishing a session. Before kitesurfing, check the local signs and current notices from the city administration. There is also an approved water-skiing area at Mullaloo’s beaches. If you are considering both sports, distinguish between the areas designated for each and follow the local guidance.

Beach trails and Ride the Sunset Coast

Beach trails connect Mullaloo with neighbouring beaches and are suitable for walking, running and cycling. Conditions and access along the trails can vary. The Ride the Sunset Coast route includes Mullaloo Beach as a place to swim and have coffee. A 14-kilometre section of this route between Marmion Beach and Burns Beach is an easy half-day walk or cycle. This makes it possible to distinguish a connection between beaches from a longer tour with a clearly defined time commitment. Check current trail conditions before setting out.

Another idea for your day’s plans

Free electric barbecue facilities are available at Blackboy Park in Mullaloo. You can plan a barbecue as another activity. If the facilities are important to your plans, check the latest information before visiting.

Mullaloo as a place to stay

When looking for accommodation in Mullaloo, your preferred pace for the day is a helpful starting point: a beach-focused stay differs from a plan that sets aside half a day for the route between Marmion Beach and Burns Beach. Consider which focus is more likely to shape your trip before searching for hotels in Mullaloo.
