Crayfish Creek’s coastline takes many forms: sand and rocks, the area around the mouth of Crayfish Creek, and a small rocky inlet all feature in descriptions of its beaches. So visitors planning a stay will find more than one uniform stretch of shore. Beach T 1000, T 1001 and T 1003 differ in length, location and orientation. These details can help you identify the beach sections and explore the coastal landscape more purposefully.

Beaches with different features

Beach T 1000 is a 100 m stretch of sand and rocks in the high-water area. Beach T 1001 is 150 m long and lies on the western side of the mouth of Crayfish Creek. A bridge crosses the creek 50 m west of Beach T 1001. Its position relative to the creek mouth and the bridge can help you find this section of beach.

Beach T 1003 has different features. The beach lies on the eastern side of the small settlement of Crayfish Creek and has a small, rock-lined inlet facing east. Rocks and reefs reduce the wave height there to 0.5 m; surf conditions remain variable. There is also a 150 m stretch of sand in the high-water area. Boats are also launched from the beach; conditions for doing so can vary.

The sections differ in more than just length: T 1001 is defined by its position on the western side of the creek mouth, while T 1003 lies on the eastern side of the settlement and faces east. T 1000, in turn, is characterised by its stretch of sand and rocks in the high-water area. This gives you a concrete picture of the different coastal features of Crayfish Creek.
