Midginbil brings together shared stays and nature experiences. Midginbil Eco Resort hosts retreats, camps and group events; Nightcap National Park offers activities including picnics, hikes and overnight camping. These options offer different ways to travel: organised group experiences and time in the landscape.

Retreats and Group Stays

The resort’s program includes wellness retreats, education camps, workshops and private gatherings. The booking policy is important for your planning: only medium to large groups are accepted; individual bookings are not. If you’re planning a family trip with relatives or friends, first check whether your group size fits this requirement. Then you can consider which format suits your occasion.

Retreats typically last three to five days. The resort also offers a relaxed three-day country wedding experience. These durations help distinguish between two different formats: a retreat usually runs over several days, while the wedding experience is designed as a three-day stay. Special-interest groups also include camps run by Autism Camps Australia; the resort hosts ten Autism Camps each year. The three-day wedding format is at the shorter end of the usual three-to-five-day retreat duration, so the timeframes overlap even though the offerings have different formats and purposes.

From Dairy Farm to Outdoor Education

The Midginbil Eco Resort property was originally a large dairy farm, which operated until the late 1960s. It was later used for farm stays and camping, and served as an outdoor education centre for school camps. This sequence traces its use from agriculture to accommodation and camping, and then to outdoor education.

Another historical landmark is on Midginbil Hill: a historic homestead built in 1911 still stands there and remains in use. Its construction date provides a specific point in time alongside the later development of the resort property.

Escarpments, Waterfalls and Trails in Nightcap National Park

Midginbil Eco Resort offers views of the escarpments of the heritage-listed Nightcap National Park. Picnics, hikes and overnight camping are possible in the park; its landscape also features waterfalls and crystal-clear streams. You can choose between a picnic break, a hike or an overnight stay in the park for your time outdoors.

Another activity nearby is available at Clarrie Hall Dam, where catch-and-release fishing is permitted. This is an alternative to the park activities and may be worth considering when planning your trip if you’d like to include fishing.
